Fine Art Photography and Weaving from Plains, MT

The photography and woven pieces currently on display are by Missoula artist/weaver Bryan D. Spellman, owner of the Sharrott Creek Gallery.  Bryan was born in Billings, Montana, and grew up in Laurel, Butte, and Billings, Montana as well as Stockton, Colusa, El Cerrito, Pinole and Berkeley, California.  He is a graduate of the University of California-Berkeley, where he earned his BA with a double major in French and German, his MA in French Literature, and his PhD in 20th Century French Literature.  He has retired from The University of Montana where he spent most of his time as the Administrative Officer in the School of Fine Arts (now the College of Visual and Performing Arts).  In his retirement, Bryan plans to devote himself to creating art on the loom and in the camera, and sharing that art with his friends and admirers.

Bryan's work has been shown in a Juried Exhibit at the Crescent Harbor Art Gallery in Crescent City, California.  He has had one-man shows at the Bank of America, Crescent City, California and the Western Montana Gay & Lesbian Community Center in Missoula, as well as at the Sharrott Creek Gallery.  He has three on-line galleries available.  They can be found at:

His writing (and photography) are also available on his two blogs:
